One, UGR definition

UGR is the abbreviation of Unified Glare Rating, which means unified glare value. It is a psychological parameter that measures the subjective response of the light emitted by the lighting device in the indoor visual environment to the uncomfortable feeling of the human eye. Its value can be calculated with the CIE unified glare value formula according to the prescribed calculation conditions. Different UGR values have obvious differences in lighting effects, and the visual and psychological differences brought about by them are also large. The specific use places are also different, as follows:

1. UGR=13, because the glare is just felt, the light curtain reflects less, and the space ceiling is darker, giving people a gloomy feeling; it is generally used in computer rooms and monitoring rooms.

2, 16<UGR<19, is just acceptable, it is the boundary between comfort and discomfort, limited control of glare, light curtain reflection, is the first choice for comfortable office space; generally used in ordinary, high-end offices, library reading rooms, hospitals, School buildings, etc.

3. UGR>19, because it is just uncomfortable, the lighting space is full of vitality, but the glare and light curtain reflection attract people's attention; it is generally used for commercial building lighting, business halls, etc.

Second, UGR test principle

The original industrial and civil lighting design standards stipulate that the direct glare of indoor general lighting is limited according to the brightness limit curve. This limitation method is only for the glare of a single lamp, and cannot represent the total glare effect of all lamps in the room. Therefore, CIE proposed a unified glare value (UGR) calculation formula on the basis of comprehensive glare calculation formulas in various countries. It is suitable for the general lighting design of simple cube-shaped rooms. The lamps are arranged evenly and equidistantly. The lamps are double symmetrical. The observation position is generally at the midpoint of the vertical and horizontal walls, and the line of sight is horizontal to the front.

Three, UGR test factor

The UGR test result is a systematic project, which involves many factors, such as space size, background brightness, the brightness of each luminaire in the observer direction, the solid angle formed by the light-emitting part of each luminaire to the observer’s eyes, each The position index of a single lamp, etc., these factors interact and influence each other, and ultimately affect the test value of UGR.

Fourth, UGR control method

1. Avoid installing lamps in interference areas;

2. Use low-gloss surface decoration materials, such as UGR diffuser;

3. Limit the brightness of the lamps;
