The 6th China OLED Industry Development Forum Successfully Held In Gu'an

On May 16-18, 2018, the “6th China OLED Industry Development Forum” jointly organized by the Liquid Crystal Branch of the China Optics and Optoelectronics Industry Association (CODA), the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI), and the China OLED Industry Alliance was established in Hebei Province. An International Entrepreneurship Center was grandly held. As the annual industry summit, China's OLED industry development forum has been successfully held for five sessions. This conference closely follows the development trend of the new display industry, with the theme of “the universal display era of all things”, attracting OLEDs at home and abroad. A number of experts and scholars in the industry chain and representatives of the upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain gathered together and held lively discussions in the upstream, downstream, and production-related fields.

The conference was directed by the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Science and Technology Department of Hebei Province, the People's Government of Langfang City, and the People's Government of Gu'an County. Gu'an, the venue for the conference, attracted much attention. Gu'an is located in the core area of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and it is a rising star based on mature surrounding environment. Within a few years, Gu'an's display industry has already reached a preliminary scale, and projects such as Visionox and BOE have been completed and put into production. The development of Gu'an and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development has become a historical opportunity for Hebei Province to focus on building an emerging display industry development cluster.

At present, driven by various innovative applications, the investment distribution of OLED industry at home and abroad has accelerated. Driven by the display panel, OLED materials, equipment and other fields are constantly developing vitality. The new type of display is ushering in unprecedented new opportunities. This is of great significance for government, business, and institutional investment decisions.

Mr. Xiaofeng Xiao introduced that Hebei has a solid industrial base and the total industrial output ranks sixth in the country for 13 consecutive years. The emerging display industry chain in the province is complete. At present, basic materials such as OLED display materials and liquid crystal materials have been formed, and small and medium-sized display modules, panels, display terminals and other relatively complete industrial chains have been formed. In the future, Hebei Province will focus on promoting the leap-forward development of emerging display industries, build four new display industrial bases or parks, improve the industrial chain, build a number of innovation platforms, develop a number of key core technologies, implement a number of major projects, and enhance industrial competition. force.

In the huge changes in the global display industry structure, it is actually an industrial transformation. China has a vast application market and a superior environment. It has attracted global panel and material manufacturers to invest here. In 2017, China's display industry revenue increased by 37% year-on-year. %, showing that the industry’s operating income has reached 200 billion yuan, and shipments have surpassed South Korea, ranking first in the world.

Academician Ouyang Zhongcan attended the conference and delivered a speech. He recalled the display industry's 50th anniversary. China’s display industry is heading towards the highest peak in the world. Academician Ouyang believes that this experience is now applicable to OLEDs. Mr. Tobias introduced the development status of various materials used in OLED materials, such as fluorescence, phosphorescence, and expectations for printing materials. For the various display materials, there are three key factors: the first is the material design, as the material provider, which is a very important role that Merck needs to play; the second important factor is to ensure the stability and balance of the material properties; The third is the combination of materials.

Xin Yi: "China's OLED Industry Development Trends and China Opportunities"

According to the deputy secretary-general of Yueyi, from the perspective of the size of China's OLED industry, it would be more appropriate to use a word of “red”. Predictively within five years, China's OLED production line may be close to 20. From the perspective of investment, the current investment is 350 billion yuan, and it is expected that by 2020 our entire investment industry will reach a scale of 500 billion yuan.

Jun Arai: "JOLED's OLED Printing Technology"

Mr. Arai noted that JOLED is made up of Sony and Matsushita Investments, and is funded by Japan’s National Industry Development Fund. In December 2017, JOLED Corporation has launched a printed OLED panel product. Jun Aramoto pointed out that the structure of the OLED device is very simple to print, the process flow is very simple, and large-scale mass production can be realized at the same time. Zou Zhongzhe Director pointed out that China's new OLED-related factories to invest 400 billion yuan, will bring great opportunities for the entire industry chain. At the same time, he mentioned that China's OLED industry is facing problems. He said that the success factors of China's AMOLED industry are currently unsound, including upstream suppliers' equipment, panel factories, downstream development, economies of scale, talent and technology, patents, funds, etc. There are many difficulties to overcome.

The overall development of smart terminals will drive the rapid development of the entire industry chain, including camera technology, communications technology, and display technology. The shape of the mobile phone in the future, the flexible screen is the biggest scenario. In the future, it is very likely that the mobile phone plus the so-called general terminal will have very large flexible screen application scenarios.
