Level Of LCD Panel
Jun 08, 2021
Liquid crystal panels can be divided into three grades: A, B, and C according to their quality. The grades are based on the number of dead pixels. However, there are no relevant hard and fast regulations in the world, so the grading standards of different countries and regions are not the same.
Normally, LCD panels with less than 5 dead pixels are classified as Class A, more than 5 dead pixels and less than 10 are classified as Class B, and LCD panels with more than 10 dead pixels are classified as Class C.
In principle, A-level panels are most suitable for display manufacturing, but it is inevitable that LCD panels will produce B-level panels, so most of these B-level panels will be digested by other-brand display manufacturers. The C-level panel is completely unsuitable for display manufacturing, and most of the liquid crystal panels that are cut into small areas are used in other fields.
However, there are a very small number of LCD display manufacturers that will use C-level panels. Two or three years ago, there was a storm of low-cost and low-quality LCDs disrupting the market.
It is said that in addition to the number of dead pixels, the performance of the B-level and C-level panels cannot be compared with the A-level panels in other aspects. Compared with the A-level panel, the brightness of the B-level and C-level panels is relatively uneven, the color saturation is relatively insufficient, the image color reproduction ability is poor, and the appearance may even be damaged.
