Classification And Characteristics Of Light Guide Plates

Feb 04, 2022

1. Classification of light guide plates:

    1. By shape

    Flat plate: The light guide plate is rectangular when viewed from the place where the light enters.

    Wedge-shaped plate: also known as the inclined plate, from the point of view of the light, one side is thick and the other is thin into a wedge (triangle) shape.

    2. By outlets

    Printing: After the light guide plate is processed, the dots are printed on the reflective surface by printing, which is divided into IR and UV.

    Non-printing type: The dots are directly formed on the reflective surface when the light guide plate is formed. It is further divided into chemical etching (Etching), precision mechanical characterization (V-cut), photolithography (Stamper), and internal diffusion.

    3. Follow the incoming light

    Side light type: place the illuminant (light tube or LED) on the side of the light guide plate.

    Direct type: place the illuminant (light tube or LED) under the light guide plate.

    4. Press to shape

    Injection molding: use an injection molding machine to inject optical-grade PMMA particles into the mold at high temperature and high pressure to cool and form.

    Cutting and forming: The optical grade PMMA original board is cut to complete the finished product.

2. The light guide plate manufacturer explains the characteristics of the light guide plate:

    1. It can be arbitrarily cut into the required size, or can be spliced and used, the process is simple and the production is convenient;

    2. High light conversion rate (more than 30% higher than traditional boards), uniform light, long service life, can be used normally indoors for more than 8 years, safe and environmentally friendly, durable and reliable, and can be used indoors and outdoors;

    3. Under the same area of luminous brightness, the luminous efficiency is high and the power consumption is low;

    4. Can be made into special shapes, such as circles, ellipses, arcs, triangles, etc.;

    5. Under the same brightness, thinner products can be used to save costs;

    6. Any light source can be used, point line light source can be converted into surface light source, light source includes LEDCCFL (cold cathode lamp), fluorescent lamp, etc.
