May 10, 2018
Recently, a message came out of the Taiwanese media in China that BOE and Samsung Display have deepened cooperation in the TV panel, Samsung Display helped BOE to increase the 10.5 generation line yield, and Jingdong provided Samsung with a 60% cost price panel. BOE denied Hefei 10.5 generation line and Samsung Display cooperation.
JD.com told the China Electronics News reporter that the news of BOE 10.5 Line and Samsung Display cooperation is not true. BOE Hefei 10.5 generation line is the world's first 10.5 generation LCD panel production line. Samsung Display currently has only 8.5 generations of production lines and the following generations of production experience, there is no 10.5 generation line production experience, can not help increase the yield of BOE 10.5 generation line.
BOE further pointed out that although Samsung Display has temporarily taken the lead in OLED, it has been overtaken by the Chinese mainland in the LCD industry. Regardless of the accumulation of LCD panel technology, or the LCD panel production capacity and market rate, BOE has a certain degree of lead.
Quzhi Consulting recently released the global LCD TV panel shipments in the first quarter of 2018, and BOE has surpassed LGD and Samsung Display to leap to the top in the world. Quzhi Consulting analyst said that BOE continued to promote the development of large-size and ultra-high-definition display industries. In the television panel field, the competitiveness of the global market has significantly improved. According to forecast, in the large-size display field, especially the TV LCD screen, this year BOE will be the first in the world.
It is understood that BOE insists innovation to lead the development of enterprises, R&D investment, and annual new patent applications continue to increase. BOE's R&D investment will increase from 1.9 billion yuan in 2013 to 6.97 billion yuan in 2017, an increase of 267% over five years; The number of patent applications increased from 4282 in 2013 to 8678 in 2017, an increase of 103% in five years.
