The classification and working principle of resistive touch screen

The touch screen is generally divided into two types: capacitive touch screen and resistive touch screen. Next, we will introduce the working principle of the resistive touch screen.
The basic principle and classification of the resistive touch screen
Resistive touch screens can fly in three designs, four-wire, five-wire, and eight-wire. The working principle of each is similar, the following will briefly introduce.
The four-line touch screen is almost the most basic production specification for touch screen practitioners because of factors such as cost and technical maturity. First of all, in terms of resistive touch screen technology, four-wire touch screens account for approximately 50% of the market. Its composition mainly includes one ITOFilm conductive film and one piece of indium tin oxide conductive glass ITO Glass. After the ITO Film and ITO Glass are conductive, they use the voltage of +5V (manufacturers use different voltages than +5V). In the middle part of the two layers of electric conductors, the ITO film and the ITO glass are separated by a space ball Spacer. The purpose thereof is to avoid a malfunction due to a short circuit caused by no touch.
The main working principle of the four-wire touch screen is to regard the lower part and the upper part as the work of the Y-axis and X-axis coordinates. Two conductive lines are installed on the peripheral edges of the ITO film and the ITO glass. At the same time, a fixed voltage is set at both ends to make it a uniform electric field.
Because the Dot Spacer is a barrier between the upper and lower parts, the upper and lower layers are insulated. If you touch the panel with a pen, finger, or other medium, it will cause a short circuit between the upper and lower layers, creating a voltage drop.
