Detailed classification of TFT liquid crystal panels
Apr 23, 2018
In the front we introduced the TFT LCD screen some of the principles of knowledge, the following we will introduce the more common TFT color panel classification:
The
VA type LCD panel: VA type LCD panel is currently the most widely used type of display product, mostly used in relatively high-end products, 16.7M color (8bit panel) and a relatively large viewing angle It is one of the most obvious technical features. Now the VA panel is divided into two types: MVA and PVA.
The
MVA-type liquid crystal panel: The full name is (Multi-domain Vertical Alignment), which is a multi-quadrant vertical alignment technology. It is the use of protrusions to make the liquid crystal is not a more traditional vertical type at rest, but is biased towards a certain angle of rest; when it is applied with a voltage, it can quickly change the liquid crystal molecules into a horizontal shape so that the backlight passes more The rapid, so that it can significantly shorten the display time, but also because this protrusion changes the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, so that the perspective of the vision is more broad. In the increase of viewing angle above can reach 160 °, the reaction time can be shortened to less than 20ms.
TFT LCD panel:
PVA-type LCD panel: This is a type of panel introduced by Samsung. It is an image vertical adjustment technology. This technology can directly change the structural state of its liquid crystal cell, so that the display effect can be greatly improved and can be better than MVA brightness output and contrast. In addition, on the basis of these two types, an improved version is also extended: S-PVA and P-MVA, which are more advanced in the development of technology, and the viewing angle can reach 170 degrees, and the response time It is also controlled within 20 milliseconds (overdrive acceleration can reach 8ms GTG), and the contrast can easily exceed the high level of 700:1 technology. Most of Samsung's products from the brand are mostly PVA LCD panels. .
The
IPS type liquid crystal panel: The IPS type liquid crystal panel has a series of advantages such as large viewing angle, fine color, and the like, and the liquid crystal panel looks relatively transparent, which is also one method of identifying the IPS type liquid crystal panel, PHILIPS does not A small number of liquid crystal displays are all IPS type liquid crystal panels used. S-IPS is the second generation of IPS technology. It has introduced some new technologies again. It is used to improve the gray-scale reversal phenomenon of IPS mode in some specific angles. LG and Philips' own panel makers are also using IPS as their technical feature.
The
TN-type LCD panel: This type of LCD panel is generally used in the entry-level and some mid-range products, the price is more affordable, inexpensive, and is used by many manufacturers. Compared with the two types of liquid crystal panels in the previous paragraph, the performance of the technology is slightly inferior. It can not show the beautiful color of 16.7M, and can only achieve 16.7M color (6bit panel) but the response time is very easy to improve. The viewing angle is also limited. The viewing angle is not more than 160 degrees. In the current market, products that are generally within 8ms response time are mostly TN LCD panels.
