How To Select LED Strip?
Feb 07, 2023
LED strips have become increasingly popular in recent years because they offer a versatile and energy-efficient lighting solution. When choosing LED strips, there are a few things to remember to ensure you get the best results. This blog post will cover how to choose LED strips for general home decor and ambient lighting in commercial locations. By following these tips, you can be sure that your LED light strips will provide beautiful and long-lasting lighting.
1. Luminous to be uniform
The uniformity of luminescence has two meanings.
(1) The brightness between the beads and the beads should be consistent, which is about the quality of the LED beads.
Quick judgment method: by eye! Observe with your eyes whether the light strip glows evenly.

(2) the brightness of the head and tail of the strip should be consistent, which is about the LED strip back problem.
LED strip needs to use the power supply to drive light when the voltage drop of the LED driver power supply is relatively significant, the brightness of the head and tail of the LED strip connected too long will be an inconsistent phenomenon.

2. Light color should be consistent
Light color consistency and testing the quality of LED strip light beads are qualified parameters.
Judgment method: look directly at the strip, or find a white paper, vertically close to the LED luminous surface, you can basically determine whether the strip's light color is consistent. Looking with your eyes is the most intuitive.
3. Color temperature to choose the right
Generally speaking, the general space uses 3000K and 4000K color temperature ribbon more. But for some areas, low color temperature ribbon is necessary, such as high-end hotels and villas club.

atmosphere.
4. Color rendering index should be greater than 80
The color rendering of LED strips is not very important when the product is used in indirect lighting troughs. Still, when applied to a large area of the luminous ceiling as essential lighting or used in display cabinets as display lighting, the color rendering index Ra > 80 is a professional LED strip that must meet the requirements. This is also the requirement of the national standard GB50034-2013.
5. The light band should be continuous
The continuity of the light strip is an important consideration for the effect of lighting design, which requires the entire light strip to ensure that there are no broken areas and dark shadows.

6. The length of the connecting line should be considered
Some things are longer the better, for example, the length of the LED strip cable.
In the electrical code allows, under the premise of the drive power supply voltage drop can be controlled, the longer the distance of the LED strip can be connected, at least it will save some power (for field installation, which means that the reserved power supply location and the amount of construction are reduced, sometimes, especially for the light slot, which is a very big headache.)
For the maximum connection length requirements, each project site will be different, but the prior understanding of the maximum allowable length of the product connection is a necessary step before choosing the product.
