What is the role of the optical film for LCD industrial screens?
Apr 22, 2022
Optical films for LCD industrial screens are divided into diffusion films, brightening films and polarising brightening films. This article focuses on the usefulness of optical films.
The key items to be considered are: the gap between the optical film and the plastic frame, fixing position, anti-scratch, anti-wrinkle, etc.

1. Gap with the LCD plastic frame.
The design of the gap between the optical film and the LCD adhesive frame should be considered in terms of both horizontal dimensions and vertical thickness. The setting of the gap in the direction of the length and width of the transverse plane should not only consider the tolerance of the material, but also the expansion of the optical film due to the influence of the environment. In the direction of the thickness of the optical film, the dimensional changes caused by the influence of environmental humidity and temperature, the optimal combination of different films, etc. should also be taken into account.
2. Position fixing.
When designing optical film sheets, it is also important to avoid loosening problems within the gap range, so that the position of the optical film sheet is fixed. Usually a concave-convex lamination is used, with the concave part designed on the screen adhesive frame and the convex part on the optical diaphragm. To avoid reversal of the optical diaphragm front to back or left to right in the actual assembly, most are designed with asymmetrical anti-dodging lugs on the left and right or three sides of the optical diaphragm during posting and installation, to match the optical diaphragm and plastic frame fit.
What is the role of the optical film of the LCD industrial screen?
3. Anti-scratch.
In vibration and shock tests, if the optical film is scratched by friction and foreign objects, it can reduce the display quality of the entire LCD industrial screen product. It is therefore important that these issues are considered and avoided during the design phase. In order to prevent scratches caused by friction, on the one hand the optical film must be fixed in position and an optimum gap between the optical film and the adhesive frame of the LCD screen must be established. On the other hand, scratch-resistant optical films need to be selected and the optical films need to be treated with anti-scratch treatment.
4, anti-wrinkle.
In high temperature and high humidity experiments, if the problem of wrinkling of the optical film occurs, it will reduce the display quality of the whole LCD industrial screen product. Choosing a thicker optical film can effectively reduce the occurrence of wrinkles. In addition, creating the optimum gap between the optical film and the plastic frame can also be effective in reducing the probability of wrinkling.
The above briefly describes what to look for in an optical film posting for LCD industrial screens and what it can do.
