The difference between TV backlight panel and LCD panel
Jun 14, 2021
The backlight circuit board is also called a high-voltage board, and the liquid crystal board --- the circuit board inside the liquid crystal is called the liquid crystal board. The backlight board is the board that lights up the LCD backlight!
The backlight is used to light up the screen. If it is broken, the screen will not light up. If you use a flashlight to shine on the screen, you can still see the image. . . The LCD panel includes all the circuit boards inside the LCD, that is, the power supply board, the main board, the high voltage board, the display driver board, and a small key board, the receiving board (for the remote control), and the plug-in U disk, video, and audio Signal and so on,
The backlight panel can only emit white light, and the backlight panel works with the liquid crystal panel because the liquid crystal panel cannot emit light. The backlight can only change the brightness, not the color. The liquid crystal panel can distort and filter the light. The white light already contains all the colors. The liquid crystal panel can separate the colors that need to be displayed from the white backlight of the backlight panel, and form an image after being arranged. Without the backlight, the LCD panel can still display images, but it looks awkward, just like wearing the darkest sunglasses on the planet to see things.
Without the LCD panel, the backlight panel can only be used as a fluorescent lamp.
LCD touch screen mobile phones are generally found in the market today, but when the screen bursts, the touch screen must be separated by an LCD separator. The current mobile phone screens are diverse and display effects are different, but in the final analysis, their screen materials are nothing more than the above-mentioned LCD and OLED. So what is the difference between these two materials? Which screen is better?
The LCD separator tells you that the most fundamental difference between LCD and OLED is that OLED is self-luminous, while LCD needs to be illuminated by a backlight to display. So which material is better?
At present, it is generally believed that the technology of OLED is more advanced and it is also the direction of future development. However, the current development is not very mature, mainly based on the AMOLED series screens developed by Samsung. As the main force in the LCD camp, TFT is more misunderstood. Many people think that TFT technology is backward and outdated. However, this is not the case. At present, most mobile phones on the market still use TFT screens, but they use different panel technologies. The IPS screen used in the most popular mobile phone Apple iPhone 4S is called the best screen. In fact, IPS screens are also a kind of TFT screens.
In order to further understand the difference between the two types of screens, we will introduce the working principles and characteristics of the two types of screens. Interpretation of LCD working principle LCD (short for Liquid Crystal Display), that is, liquid crystal display, is a display that uses liquid crystal control light transmittance technology to achieve color.
From the perspective of the structure of the liquid crystal display, the LCD is composed of two parallel glass plates with a thickness of about 1 mm, separated by a uniform interval of 5 μm containing liquid crystal material. Because the liquid crystal material itself does not emit light, there are lamps as light sources on both sides of the display screen, and there is a backlight plate (or even light plate) and reflective film on the back of the liquid crystal display screen. The backlight plate is composed of fluorescent materials. Can emit light, its main function is to provide a uniform background light source.
Three types, CCFL tubes are cold cathode tubes, EEFL tubes without cold cathode, LED light-emitting diodes, CCFL and EEFL, the difference in luminescence: CCFL electrodes are inside the tube, EEFL electrodes are outside the tube, and EEFL tubes The brightness of CCFL is more than 60% higher than that of CCFL.
The difference in driving between EEFL and CCFL: CCFL can only be driven by a single lamp, because the voltage and current characteristics of each lamp are different, driving all the lamps with the same waveform to emit light will cause the overall brightness of the LCD screen to be uneven. EEFL can be driven in parallel, so pay attention to when replacing the lamp.
The difference in circuit appearance between EEFL and CCFL: CCFL requires multiple transformers to drive multiple lamps, that is, one transformer drives one lamp, while EEFL only needs one transformer or the secondary of two transformers to drive and light all parallel lamps tube. In this way, from the appearance of the inverter board, we can identify what kind of lamp the LCD TV is.
There are very few LED backlight TVs, Hisense’s and Samsung’s have individual styles
