PS light guide plate, full name polystyrene light guide plate, is a high-tech product made of optical grade PS sheet, mainly used to efficiently convert point light source or line light source into uniform surface light source. Its working principle is based on the principle of optical reflection and refraction. By using laser engraving, UV screen printing and other technologies to print light guide points on the bottom of the PS sheet, when the light enters the light guide plate from the light entrance, it encounters the light guide points during the propagation process in the plate, and the light will be reflected and scattered, and then diffused in all directions, and finally evenly emitted from the front of the light guide plate to achieve a surface luminous effect. It is usually rectangular when viewed from the light entrance, but it can also be processed into other shapes such as wedges (inclined plates) according to actual needs to meet the installation and use requirements of different scenarios.

3. Manufacturing process
Laser engraving process: Using a high-energy-density laser beam, the bottom surface of the PS light guide plate is precisely engraved according to the pre-designed pattern and parameters to form tiny light guide points or light guide structures. This process has extremely high precision and can achieve precise control of parameters such as the size, depth, and spacing of the light guide points to meet different light guide requirements. By controlling the motion trajectory of the laser head and the laser output energy through computer programming, a complex and personalized light guide dot layout can be produced, which is suitable for high-end products with extremely high requirements for light guide uniformity and optical performance, such as light guide plates for large LCD backlight modules. UV screen printing process: This process is to first make a screen with a light guide pattern, and then screen print UV ink containing high reflectivity or scattering rate materials onto the bottom surface of the PS light guide plate. During the printing process, the ink is transferred to the surface of the light guide plate through the mesh holes of the graphic part on the screen by the extrusion of the scraper, forming the required light guide dot pattern. After printing, the ink is quickly dried and solidified by UV light curing, and firmly combined with the light guide plate. The advantages of UV screen printing process are relatively low cost and high production efficiency. It can meet the needs of large-scale production and is suitable for application fields that are sensitive to cost and have moderate requirements for light guide performance, such as ordinary advertising light boxes and signboards. However, this process is slightly inferior to laser engraving in terms of dot accuracy and uniformity control, and may cause problems such as blurred dot edges and uneven ink thickness, which affect the final light guide uniformity.
Hot pressing process: The mold with a specific light guide structure and the PS light guide plate substrate are hot pressed under high temperature and high pressure to transfer the light guide structure on the mold to the PS plate. This process can produce a light guide plate with a complex three-dimensional light guide structure, which can effectively improve the light guide efficiency and uniformity. The hot pressing process is suitable for mass production of light guide plate products with regular shapes and relatively fixed structures, and has high production efficiency. However, the initial mold development cost is high and the cycle is long. Once the mold is determined, it is difficult to change the light guide structure later and the flexibility is poor.
