How does light guide plate works

Dots located near the edges of the light guide plate are small and round and have a large distance between them. 

The dots located in the middle of the light guide plate are larger and elliptical. The light coming from the edges reaches

 the surface by diffusion through the dots, it can also reach the surface through a transparent light guide plate.
In theory, the closer to the light source, the stronger the light. The farther from the light source, the weaker the light. 

As the dots located on the sides of the LGP have a smaller diffusion effect, and the dots on the middle of the LGP 

have a large diffusion effect, we can provide you with an evenly distributed light guide plate.

Material Requirements

Biocompatibility: Materials that come into contact with the human body (e.g., endoscope light guides) must meet ISO 10993 certification and be non-toxic and non-allergenic.

Sterilization Resistance: Materials must withstand high-temperature autoclaving (e.g., 134°C steam), ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization, or chemical disinfection (e.g., alcohol wipes), maintaining performance after repeated disinfection.

High Transmittance and Stability: Transmittance >90% to resist yellowing and deformation with long-term use (to avoid compromising light quality).

Common Materials:

Medical-Grade PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate): High transmittance (92%-95%), easy processing, and suitable for contactless devices (e.g., display backlights).

Medical-Grade PC (Polycarbonate): Highly impact-resistant and resistant to repeated disinfection, making it suitable for applications requiring frequent disinfection, such as surgery or endoscopes. Quartz glass: High temperature resistant (can withstand >300℃), with a light transmittance of nearly 100%, used in high-precision equipment (such as surgical microscopes).

Maintenance and Precautions
Cleaning and Disinfection: Strictly follow the device instructions for disinfection methods (such as high-temperature sterilization or alcohol wiping). Avoid using hard tools to scratch the surface microstructure.
Avoid damage: Avoid sharp impacts or bending (especially of the delicate endoscope light guide plate) to prevent microstructure damage or material cracking.
Regular Inspection: Observe for yellowing, scratches, or decreased light transmittance, and replace promptly to ensure quality observation.
Storage: Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity to prevent material aging.
